As queer and marginalised people we have experienced microaggressions,
hate, generational and personal trauma. We have been made invisible for
centuries or longer. Writing is the perfect way to empower ourselves and
take back our narratives: when you write, you make your story your own.
You take traumatic things that happened to you and write them into art.

We will warm up with some simple writing excercises. Then I will give you
writing prompts for a short story or a memoir based story. Ask me for help
or input at any time. In the second half – if you want! – you read from your
story. We will talk about the experience and how it made us feel. If you
want, the group and I can give feedback on an artistic level as well.
