T4T filmmaking workshop
T4T filmmaking workshop
Fiction filmmaking for TINA* peeps
This workshop aims to bring together trans*, inter, non-binary, and agender creatives to share skills and empower each other to tell our own stories on screen <3.
If you have an interest in acting, directing, camera work, sound recording, or screenwriting, regardless of your experience level, we invite you to join us in the Casa Kuà garden for an afternoon of learning and experimentating together!
We will begin with warm-up exercises and an introduction to the basics of staging a short fiction scene. We will focus on the flow between directors and performers, experimenting with improvisation, and using the camera to choose the shots that convey the energy of your scene.
Afterwards, we will split into small groups to shoot three short scenes. The goal is not the final result but to learn and explore creative ways to tell our own stories and make each other shine, all through a trans* perspective behind and in front of the camera!
If you would like to participate, please register through this form: Link
Please note that for this first workshop, we will be able to work with a limited number of 15 participants. If we receive more applications than spots, we’ll activate a waiting list and send you a confirmation email when your spot is confirmed.
If you enjoy writing, you are welcome to send us or bring a short scene that you would like to film. The scene should be no longer than 2 minutes, involve 2 protagonists, and be 1-2 pages of script maximum. We will provide the camera and sound recording equipment, but please bring your own headphones if you have them for sound recording.
The workshop will be in English, we can also mix with German and Spanish if needed.
Casa Kuà aims to create a safer space primarily centering BIPOC trans, inter and queer and is also inclusive towards white trans and inter people.
