This 90-min facilitated discussion space is for those interested in learning a different way to create systemic change. During these times, many of us are wondering how to build stronger solidarity with our wider communities, and with those around us with different positionalities.

For any questions, please DM @transformativesolidarity or email ksawyer@transformativesolidarity.com

Kai Sawyer is a trans, queer, light-skinned person of colour. They have been working for many years with white and cisgender communities in the fields of anti-racism, gender justice, transformative justice, and political education. Kai’s vision is a world where those with privilege actively learn to use it for change and show up with integrity for truly equitable societies.

Participants will be introduced to the Transformative Solidarity process and its Five Guiding Principles.

The Transformative Solidarity process works with you— like, the literal uniqueness of you. Without you, without us, this process is just a bunch of pretty ideas. But together we can be a push for deep change.

Transformative Solidarity asks us to show up differently, to challenge the status quo of our life and movements. It only works as far as you’re willing to engage. And it is designed to meet us where we are and encourage and push us in the ways we choose. It is a framework to hold us as we move toward who we want to be and strive for a more just and sustainable world that honours its magic and brilliance.

– Transformative Solidarity is witnessing injustice and responding to it, in any situation – around us with different positionalities.
